About Wholly Alive Hallelujah Retreat

Wholly Alive Hallelujah Retreat is an all-inclusive diet and wellness program on 7 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Guests stay in the owners’ Bed and Breakfast property for 5-night or 3-night retreats, during which time they adhere to a strict vegan diet, learn healthy recipes and cooking techniques, practice prayerful meditation, and relax in the outdoors. The main goal of this retreat is weight loss and disease reversal. The program is supervised by the owners.

Overnight accommodations are offered in the owners’ 6-bedroom personal home or in the 2-bedroom mountain view cottage on the same property. Rooms are equipped with queen beds and shared bathrooms. There is a plethora of outdoor space, including a pool, patio, and deck. Guests assist in preparing family style meals in the house kitchen.

There are no scheduled group exercise classes. Guests accustomed to a rigorous fitness regime will need to make time for personal fitness related activities.

Vegan meals and juices are included in retreat packages. An established menu designed by the program founders is comprised of fresh fruits and vegetables, blended juices, nuts and seeds, oatmeal, tofu, and other vegan accompaniments. Supplements and protein powders are procured from the Hallelujah Diet brand. Guests join the owners in the kitchen to learn healthy meal preparation. Weight loss and disease reversal through food are the key components of the retreat.

Retreats at Wholly Alive include prayerful meditation sessions. Although the program does not tout itself as a religious experience, it advises participants to bring their bibles or other spiritual materials.

Instructional cooking classes are hosted daily by the owners. Guests will leave having learned to prepare their own healthy vegan meals and juices.
